The Last-Minute Christmas And New Year's Eve Dining Guide Slideshow

Chicago: Christmas Eve

Drake Bros (pictured): Inside the stately Drake Hotel, a lavish Christmas Eve buffet, including crabcakes, turkey, dry-aged pork loin, Scotch eggs, and duck confit salad, will be on offer.

Markethouse: Chef Scott Walton's farm-to-table restaurant will be serving up a prix fixe meal that includes prime rib, cassoulet, and gingersnap bread pudding.

Aria: For a change of pace, this restaurant inside the swanky Fairmont Hotel will be serving a traditional "Jewish Christmas Dinner": a three-course Chinese meal. To round out the experience, each guest will receive a voucher for a ticket to the AMC movie theater located a couple of blocks away.

David Burke's Primehouse: This modern steakhouse will be serving their full menu of solid steaks and sides, as well as a few specials like prime rib.

Sixteen at Trump: For those looking to splurge, if it's got the Trump name on it you know it's going to be a pricey, but worth it, dinner. This $150 five-course tasting menu in the Trump hotel is topped off with a traditional bûche de noël with roasted pear gelée and speculoos ice cream.

Chicago: New Year's Eve

Baume & Brix: Hubbard Street's newest restaurant will be serving up a six-course feast chock-full of lobster, caviar, oysters, black truffles, and filet mignon during two seatings.

The Florentine: Chef Chris Macchia's seasonal Italian restaurant is serving up a decadent prix fixe menu that includes oysters, foie gras, and a veal porterhouse for two.

BellyQ: Bill Kim's Asian barbecue restaurant will be serving a unique feast for the new year: six different serving stations and unlimited sake and cocktails for $125. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Bistronomic (pictured): Chef and owner Martial Noguier's French-inspired bistro located just off the Magnificent Mile will feature two seatings, at 5 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Menu options include caramelized shallot soup, beef tenderloin Rossini, and profiteroles.

DMK Burger Bar: For something a little different, this restaurant will be serving up all of 2012's favorite off-menu special monthly burgers, including the #1 Burger (aged Cheddar, smoked bacon, charred balsamic red onions, Rufus Teague's BBQ sauce), the Bloody Burger (steak tartare, fried egg, garlic aioli, salt and vinegar chips), and the Caesar Burger (chicken burger with Parmesan, sun-dried tomato, romaine, Caesar dressing, lemony onions). DJs will be spinning all night, there's an open bar, and the party goes until 2 a.m. 

Los Angeles: Christmas Eve

NINETHIRTY: This restaurant in the W Los Angeles-Westwood is serving up both a prix fixe and an à la carte menu for Christmas Eve. One standout? Roasted prime rib with wild rice bread pudding, truffled haricot vert, and cabernet Jus, for $48.

Napa Valley Grille: This Wine Country-inspired restaurant in Westwood Village will be offering a seasonal, local dinner with dishes including roasted veal marrow, pancetta-wrapped venison chop, and chestnut agnolotti.

Mélisse: Chef Josiah Citrin's two-Michelin-star restaurant in Santa Monica will be hosting two classy dinners, featuring chestnut soup, Maine lobster, truffle risotto, and prime filet of beef.

The Pikey (pictured): This festive, low-key Hollywood English pub is offering a selection of traditional English Christmas fare and drink for the evening's celebration, including roast goose, mince pies, spiced cider, and holiday milk punch.

Hatfield's: A four-course prix fixe will be on offer at this mainstay of California cuisine, with dishes including beet-cured fluke, Spanish octopus with saffron onion purée, short ribs with chive spaetzle, and sugar and spice beignets with Venezuelan chocolate fondue.

Los Angeles: New Year's Eve

Fleming's (pictured): These steakhouses are serving their traditional New Year's feast from Dec. 28 until New Year's Eve, and the special menu features decadent classics like Delmonico steak with blue crab and Gruyère glassage, filet mignon and lobster-brioche bread pudding, and lobster tail with mac and cheese.

Chaya: Each of the three Los Angeles Chaya restaurants (including the brasserie and the Venice location) will be hosting their own themed New Year's Eve party. At their Beverly Hills location it's "Hollywood Nights," complete with a party on their patio, the Downtown outpost is having a Roaring '20s party with a swing band, and at their Venice location it'll be a Great Gatsby-themed night.

Valentino: At this 40-year-old quintessential Italian fine dining spot, the stops are being pulled out with a $120 feast complete with Maine lobster salad, risotto with black truffle, and venison cutlet.

Jar: Chef Suzanne Tracht's modern chophouse will be serving up all the favorites as well as a selection of dishes created especially for the occasion, including a veal chop and a roasted lobster tail.

Lucques: At this 14-year-Old West Hollywood landmark, chef Suzanne Goin has created a menu to honor the historic Cocoanut Grove at the Ambassador Hotel.The cozy former carriage house of the Harold Lloyd estate is hosting two seatings, at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Boston: Christmas Eve

75 on Liberty Wharf: This harborside restaurant will be offering a three-course dinner featuring carrot ginger soup, Moroccan-spiced rack of lamb, and eggnog cheesecake.

Legal Harborside (pictured): Also on the harbor, this seafood restaurant will be serving up their take on the traditional "Feast of the Seven Fishes:" oysters, stone crab claws, scallops, lobster, sablefish, monkfish, and arctic char.

Avila: This Mediterranean bistro's menu will also feature plenty of seafood, with an Italian twist. Drop in for the creamy corn soup with Maine lobster, crispy oysters, spaghettini with Nantucket Bay scallops, crabmeat-stuffed lemon sole, and a selection of pastries for dessert. Their à la carte menu will also be available.

Woodward at AMES: This Financial District restaurant is serving a traditional feast meant to evoke New England Christmas dinners of the past: broiled oysters, roasted cod, Yankee pot roast, and an almond brown butter apple financier. Afterward you can head upstairs to their lounge to check out the views and dream by the fire.

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse: The Feast of the Seven Fishes is certainly a trend, as Davio's will also be serving it, with an Italian twist: fritto misto, fedelini with Manila clams, crabmeat-stuffed lobster, and fresh-baked pastries. 

Boston: New Year's Eve

Clio: This decadent New Year's Eve feast starts at $125 per person, and features Alaskan king crab, foie gras two ways, Scituate lobster, and tamarind beef short rib.

Back Deck: For a less expensive option, this downtown favorite is serving up a variety of grilled goodies, for $35 per person or $100 for two with a bottle of wine.

Central Bottle Wine + Provisions: From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., this charming Cambridge shop will be serving up Island Creek oysters for $1 along with several varieties of champagne. It's a great way to get the night started before hitting the town!

Eastern Standard (pictured): This Kenmore Square standby will be serving up their usual menu of American brasserie fare as well as a variety of "festive specials." It's also one of the few places you can buy champagne by the Jeroboam.

Lumière: Six-time James Beard Award nominated chef and owner Michael Leviton will be serving up an $80 per person celebratory feast with local and seasonal ingredient-heavy dishes like hand-harvested Maine sea scallops, Rainbow Ranch grass-fed beef tenderloin, and apple and cranberry maple almond crisp. 

New York: Christmas Eve

Reynards:  Andrew Tarlow's restaurant inside Williamsburg's new Wythe Hotel will be hosting an old-fashioned five-course Christmas goose dinner, including oysters and pâté, goose with bread pudding and vegetables, a cheese plate, foie gras, and a bûche de noël, for $85.

Kittichai: This upscale SoHo Thai restaurant will be serving a six-course Christmas dinner, and a vegetarian option is also available.

Firebird: This midtown Russian crowd-pleaser is serving a four-course dinner including a traditional Sachet Noel, butter-poached Nova Scotia lobster, and a Baba Romovaya for dessert.

La Bottega: This Italian restaurant in the charmingly oddball Maritime Hotel is serving a traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes from Christmas Eve until New Year's featuring crabmeat tortellini, insalata di mare, baked clams, linguine with lobster, Adriatic seafood stew, pan-seared scallops, and panettone or cannoli for dessert.

Maison Premiere (pictured): It's as if a New Orleans oyster bar just up and moved into the heart of Williamsburg. They'll be celebrating Christmas Eve with a six-course seafood tasting menu. Oysters will be served until 2 a.m. and the bar will be open until 4 a.m. 

New York: New Year's Eve

SD26: This downtown sister to Central Park South's San Domenico is hosting a $360 per person all-inclusive party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., complete with wine, champagne, food including tuna tartare and veal filet, hats, and noisemakers. At 2 a.m. spaghetti with oil, garlic, and pepperoncino will be served to help with the hangover.

Ovest Pizzoteca: For a more low-key approach, check out this Chelsea restaurant. They'll be passing complimentary hors d'oeuvres from 10 p.m. to midnight, plus a complimentary prosecco toast at midnight.

The Orchard House: This cozy Lower East Side restaurant is offering a special treat to guests who drop in for their 9:30 p.m. seating: a mini bottle of champagne to pop at midnight. Filet mignon and pumpkin cheesecake are on the menu, and a $55 open bar until 3 a.m. should keep everyone very happy.

Aamanns-Copenhagen: This Tribeca Danish restaurant is hosting a traditional Danish "Taffel" celebration at lunchtime, complete with a seafood feast and a live screening of Queen Margrethe II's New Year's speech. For dinner, the chef will create a three-course Danish feast followed by wine, beer, cocktails, and a toast at midnight.

Parm: The wizards behind the perpetually packed Torrisi Italian Specialties are hosting two seatings in their more low-key offshoot, Parm. Oysters, crab arancini, lasagna with meat gravy, and veal parm are on the menu, and it's all sure to be delicious.
