Foursquare Tips

  • Located in the Ace Hotel, this top-notch seafood restaurant from chef April Bloomfield is a favorite of our own Barefoot Contessa. Try the Oyster Pan Roast, or partake in the Oyster Happy Hour.
  • If it's not too busy, The Dory is a cool place to pop in for oysters and cocktails. For a special occasion, ask about the chef's table tasting in the kitchen. [Eater 38 Member]
  • The oysters are SO good; I'll have a dozen more, kthx.
  • Try the sublime kedgeree, studded with flaky haddock and garnished with fried onions, rice, ribbons of omelette and lime. Its one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011.
  • Oysters, oyster pan roast, octopus, squid, and parker rolls. Oh. My. God. If I could live in this kitchen I would.
  • Don't pass up the oyster pan roast, a smoky chowder paired with uni crostini. Delish!
  • Dont miss the impossibly decadent $15 oyster pan roast here, and try the Eccles cake with Stilton for dessert. Featured in Where to Eat 2011!
  • From the same folks behind The Spotted Pig, the focus here is (obviously!) on seafood. Had a wonderful peeky-toe bruschetta. -Monica Pope, Top Chef
  • The bar's happy hour special (5 p.m.-7 p.m. or midnight-2 a.m.) includes a half-dozen oysters and a 20-ounce pint of stout or a glass of cava ($15).
  • Oh, man! An hour for a table and youre in the bar staring at a phone. Order a riesling and the char, make yourself feel better. Sworth it.
  • New York: We're big fans of all of Chef April Bloomfield's hotspots! Click "More Info" to check out tips from the wine director at John Dory on excellent white wine pairings w/ your oysters
  • Delicious...but shockingly small portions. Order a lot or plan to hit up McDonalds afterwards
  • The sixpoint oyster stout is exclusive and is brewed with oyster shells. It's a must.
  • Everything oyster!
  • Let's compare East Coast and West Coast oysters.
  • Bad service. Food was decent. More of a drink and raw bar kind of spot!
  • Oysters (naked cowboys), cab franc ros, Parker House rolls and oyster pan roast. Dassit, forever. (Ok, and maybe that razor clam ceviche, too.)
  • My tongue had a lot of orgasms tonight
  • April Bloomfield's Mediterranean bar-style restaurant in the Ace Hotel. Though waits can get long and the space is noisy, we've loved almost everything we've tried. Save room for dessert.
  • Chorizo stuffed squid is amazing! Avoid lobster roll as its served hot for some weird reason.
