Jay Lloyd's Getaway: Cape May's Jazz Fest

By Jay Lloyd

CAPE MAY, N.J. (CBS) — If you crave jazz and fall weekends at the Jersey shore, it all comes together on the weekend of November 7th.

Better make reservations now, because the "Exit 0 (zero) Jazz Festival" has a tendency to fill up the city of Cape May beyond the migration that arrives for fall fests, wine tastings, and birding.

John Cooke, who runs the popular Victorian Motel and blogs about his town, is a jazz buff who puffs about the number of stages making music on a single weekend.

"The whole town comes to life with top quality acts," he says.  "It's a great weekend to be here."

And the sounds are spread around town with clubs, bars, and hotels sharing the moods with the main stage in the shoreside Convention Center.

So what's on tap, where, and what's the cost?

"Their web site, exit0jazzfest.com, has all the details," Cooke advises.

And in case you were wondering, "Exit 0″ refers to the southermost exit (Cape May) of the Garden State Parkway.  When your tires get wet and there's jazz in your ear, you're there!
