Today may be chocolate soufflé day, but IHOP claims it's National Pancake Day, so they are giving out a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes to any customer. We're not complaining.

There's a catch, of course. "In return for the free pancakes, guests are asked to consider leaving a donation for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other designated local charities," the IHOP web site says.

The deal is one short stack per customer for dine-in guests, until supplies run out. A manager over at the 14th Street New York City IHOP tells us they're getting "destroyed," and they're expecting about 1,700 people popping in for the freebies. Better get on it.
