This Is How You Make Peanut Butter And Honey Sandwiches In Space

Who knew sandwiches were a big issue in space? Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield continues with his YouTube series about kitchens in space, and today he talks a little bit about making peanut butter and honey sandwiches in zero-gravity situations. Please excuse us as we geek out for a minute.

Hadfield points out that since crumbs just sort of float away and spread everywhere in space, tortillas are the best carbohydrate vehicles for peanut butter and honey spreads. Free-floating food shenanigans ensue, including a runaway tortilla, as well as some careful peanut butter and honey application. "Notice something cool about the honey, instead of the bubble sitting at the top, because there's no gravity to make it float up, the bubble is floating in the middle," Hadfield points out. Mind = blown.

Watch below as Hadfield makes his peanut butter and honey lunch, and then feel grateful that on Earth, it's much easier to add some sliced bananas to that mix.
