'How to Win a Guy with One Sip' Coffee

Ingredients

For the coffee

  • 1 Tablespoon  Seattle’s Best Coffee, Level 5, ground
  • 3/4 Cups  hot water
  • 2 Tablespoons  light cream
  • 2 Teaspoons  bacon-flavored syrup
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon  caramel-flavored syrup
  • 1/8 Teaspoon  pumpkin pie spice

For the Spiced Caramelized Bacon Whipped Cream

  • 1/2 Cup  heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 Teaspoon  caramel-flavored syrup
  • 1/4 Teaspoon  bacon-flavored syrup
  • 1/4 Teaspoon  pumpkin pie spice

For the caramelized bacon

  •   brown sugar
  •   bacon

Who can resist a cup of coffee literally infused with bacon? The winner of Seattle's Best Coffee Red Cup Showdown (a state-fair contest where competitors could submit their own flavored coffee drinks), the 'How to Win a Guy with One Sip' coffee beverage will be served at select Seattle's Best locations. Said judge Jeff Mauro of Food Network, the winning drink was a no-brainer. "The drink was very balanced: not to sweet, and complex," he said. "There was a smokiness of the bacon that mixed with the medium sweetness of the drink." (And this is coming from an iced, black Americano guy — we asked.) Congratulations to the chef of the winning coffee drink, Eileen Gannon of Des Moines, Iowa — you could say she literally took home the bacon, to the tune of $10,000. Directions

For the coffee

Brew the coffee with the hot water in a pour-over brewer or coffee hand press; pour the coffee into a cup. Pour in light cream, bacon-flavored
syrup, caramel-flavored syrup, and pumpkin pie spice and stir with a spoon until combined. Top with a dollop of Spiced Caramelized Bacon Whipped Cream, drizzle with caramel ice cream topping, and sprinkle with a little pumpkin pie spice. Garnish with a caramelized bacon strip. 

For the Spiced Caramelized Bacon Whipped Cream

 In a large mixer bowl, add all the ingredients; Whip until stiff peaks form. Spoon into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and set aside until ready.

For the caramelized bacon

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9-by-13-inch pan with parchment paper and cover with a thin layer of light brown sugar. Layer bacon strips over the brown sugar.

Pat additional brown sugar over the bacon to cover and top with a second piece of parchment paper. Bake the bacon for 15 to 20 minutes, or until brown and bubbling. Remove to wire rack and cool completely.
