How To Say Goodbye To Summer And Welcome Fall With Wine

No one wants to say goodbye to summer, but unfortunately we have no control over the inevitable passage of time. We can, however, help ease that transition from summer to fall with wine. So, welcome autumn's turning leaves and chill in the air with something delicious in your glass.

One wine region that offers something for both summer and fall is Beaujolais. The red wines, made exclusively from gamay grapes, are wonderful with a slight chill. Especially handy if your Labor Day weekend normally showcases summer's warmth and you really want a glass of red wine with your burger. But, if your weather is already turning chilly, explore the more serious, age-worthy cru Beaujolais. These wines are made from the top sites in the region; some of the most noteworthy to look for are Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, and Fleurie.
