Hong Kong And Macau 2013 Michelin Guide Released

The release of the fifth Michelin Guide to Hong Kong and Macau brings major changes to Hong Kong's dining scene, as 40 percent of the guide's contents have changed from last year.

Caprice, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Lung King Heen, and 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo – Bombana maintained their three-star ratings, while Cantonese restaurants Ah Yat Harbour View, Summer Palace, and Tin Lung Heen, moved from one star to two star.

8 ½ Otto e Mezzo – Bombana remains the only Italian restaurant outside of Italy to have been awarded three stars, the highest accolade the Michelin organization awards.

Japanese restaurants RyuGin and Sushi Yoshitake joined the list of 13 two-star restaurants in Hong Kong.

The InterContinental Hong Kong came out on top among hotels, with three of its restaurants awarded Michelin stars. SPOON by Alain Ducasse, a contemporary French restaurant led by executive chef Philippe Duc, was again awarded two Michelin stars, and Yan Toh Heen, a Cantonese restaurant led by executive chef Lau Yiu Fai, and The STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill under the direction of chef Calvin Choi each received one Michelin star.
