Valrhona Holiday Chocolate Workshop

Valrhona is launching us into the coming season with its Holiday Chocolate Workshop.  Hosted by pastry chef, Sarah Kosikowski, guests were invited to get hands on while learning about the chocolate company's decadent products.

Valrhona Chocolate is the authority on chocolate for many pastry chefs because of its high standards and commitment to making a consistent product. The heart of its facility is based in the Rhône Valley of France, where it makes premium chocolates along with other baking products utilized by professionals. But even if you aren't a chef, this chocolate company offers classes to showcase products and demonstrate how to cook with chocolate. At its L'Ecole in Brooklyn, the chocolatier kitchen is equipped with all the tools needed to make a chocolate masterpiece.

Chef Kosikowski led the class on November 17 at Valrhona's Brooklyn location; she showered the class with her knowledge but kept the methods simple enough for home cooks. As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with an impressive resume of restaurants at which she has worked (like Thomas Keller's French Laundry), the chef is an encyclopedia of chocolate facts. The class left with spiced holiday truffles and recipes to re-create them. To register for a Gourmet Class visit Valrhona-chocolate.com.
