Ireland's Food Board Delivers Special Shipment Of Irish Beef And Whiskey To President Obama For St. Patrick's Day

Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board run by the state, will top off a visit to the White House Tuesday with a special delivery of Irish exports for President Obama in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

Highlighting the best culinary exports of Ireland, President Obama will receive a gift of the most popular Irish exports, including whiskey, beef, butter, craft beer, and cheese, during a visit with Enda Kenny, the prime minister of Ireland.

A number of global embassies will also receive deliveries from Bord Bia around St. Patrick's Day in an effort to raise awareness for Irish agricultural producers. In countries including Spain, Sweden, France, China, and the United Arab Emirates, Bord Bia has also planned a number of special events celebrating Irish food, including in-store promotions with major grocers and partnerships with Michelin chefs.

"St Patrick's Day provides Bord Bia, and the Irish food and drink industry, with an invaluable opportunity to highlight the quality and sustainability credentials of our produce," said Aidan Cotter, chief executive of Bord Bia. "Events and promotional campaigns allow us engage with new and existing customers to tell the story of Origin Green, our industry and its producers, on a scale unmatched by the national day of any other country."
