Foursquare Tips

  • Try the Innis & Gunn beer on tap. Originally developed in Edinburgh to flavor barrels for cask reserve whiskey. Turns out throwing away beer is not something us Scots are good at, thus oak aged beer!
  • Check out the bathroom wallpaper in the bar area of Highlands restaurant, v cool!
  • The real reason to visit this Scottish gastropub is the whiskeys: the list runs eleven pages, covers the northern islands to Speyside to the bogs of Islay, and includes detailed tasting notes.
  • Excellent cocktails and extensive scotch collection. And the scotch glasses are gorgeous.
  • The beef Wellington is life changing.
  • My favorite scotch egg to date. I may have left this tip before but there's a reason for that.
  • Presbyterian's Revenge: Black Grouse with the distinctive bitter bite of Cynar, shaken with lemon and grapefruit bitters to lighten things up, with a big twist of grapefruit on top.
  • Hostess w/the black bob is awful. After stepping on friend's bag then telling her move it out of our line of sight, she had a bouncer kick us out. We were 3 dead sober women in our 30s. Not returning
  • Good selection of whiskey and whiskey based cocktails. Food is Scottish comfort food, aka heavy,in a good way. Brussels sprouts and scallop are very good!
  • Menu musts: Lamb sausage roll, Meatplate, Scottish salmon, Beef Wellington http://bit.ly/oi9FWd
  • Pimm's Cup!
  • Anything cooked by Chef Fred is amazing, particularly the carrot and prawn soup!
  • amazing black pudding brunch.. so want it to be sunday, just to eat it!
  • Great cocktails. Superb vibe. Groovy spot.
  • All about the Whisky!
  • Great spot for late night cocktails. Smaller dinner menu but the bangers and mash was on point.
  • Never seen so many whiskeys!! Drink menu is like a novel!
  • Get the Kederra. It's like a Scottish biryani.
  • Grease the bouncer with a 20 he'll let you skip the line
  • Lively (occasionally rowdy), pubby-feeling bar with a formidable Scotch list and excellent cocktails.
