Chef Donald Link is the latest in a long line of world-class chefs to hone his chops in New Orleans, incorporating the city’s flavors and vitality into his cooking. Link is also the man behind the now-legendary Cochon (#22)Herbsaint is his more upscale (yet still fun and accessible) modern bistro, French and Italian-inspired yet still classically Southern. Standout dishes include butter-poached Gulf tuna with pickled chilies and mint; jumbo shrimp with tasso-stewed collard greens and grits; and slow-cooked lamb neck with saffron fideo and tomato confit.

  • New American cuisine in a classic atmosphere. Great service and dishes that are a combination of local flavored and French techniques. Nominated for a Janes Beard award. Try the fresh fish selection.
  • Great gumbo... Very reasonable drinks and a solid atmosphere and overall service.
  • Order the gumbo of the day (whatever it may be), housemade spaghetti w/ guanciale & fried poached egg, the amazing Muscovy duck leg confit and the banana brown butter tart for dessert. Flawless menu!
  • The catfish entree is phenomenal! Such a classy, low key place to dine.
  • On the lunch menu, there is fried goat salad with cucumbers and goat feta - Gambit's Five in 5
  • At lunch try the fish sandwich, lemon aioli gilds a slab of grilled tuna on olive bread...

  • A must stop when in NOLA! Confit is amazing if baby Brussels Sprouts are on the menu, be smart and order them, more addictive than the best potato chip or salty snack you have ever had in your mouth!
