Halfway There: A Daily Meal Mid-Year Review

Eva takes a look back at the year so far in video, including all your favorite moments plus some unseen bloopers!

Can you believe it’s already the middle of 2014? It’s been quite a year for the video department here at The Daily Meal.

So far, the year has taken us to The Florida Keys, San Antonio, Washington, D.C., Louisville, St. Croix, and countless New York City restaurants including Distilled NY, Shake Shack, Edi & the Wolf, and Eataly’s La Scuola. We helped you get ready for two major global sporting events — the Winter Olympics and the World Cup — and celebrated every holiday from New Year’s Day to Father’s Day.

The Daily Meal partnered with The 50 Yard Lounge to get you ready for SuperBowl XLVIII, and chef Kerry Heffernan correctly predicted the SuperBowl champion.

Chefs and personalities like Todd English, Marcus Samuelsson, Judy Joo, Kelsey Nixon, and Marc Murphy made appearances, and we even had a special visit from a mascot.

Rob Rosenthal continued to make us laugh with his food humor and remind us that, “Life is short, so never waste a meal.”

We helped inform you about GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and examined whether or not the food we eat is killing us. We’ll continue to bring you special reports throughout the rest of the year.
