Making and decorating gingerbread houses are a classic Christmas activity for all ages. When planning to make houses, set aside a few days for the project. The honey dough needs to rest overnight, and once the pieces are baked, allow them to cool for at least 4 hours. Allow the “mortar” icing to completely dry and harden before decorating. Make sure you have lots of fun candies and trimmings on hand for decorating. We love using pretzels for logs, or wheat cereals for roofs. An upside-down sugar cone makes a perfect Christmas tree decoration, too! Click here for a printable template. Adapted from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
