The chef, cookbook author, and television host has teamed up with Staybridge Suites to share tips on traveling and dining solo. His tips include ordering the tasting menu, which allows solo travelers to try a range of dishes specially prepared for one, and talking to the hotel concierge to get recommendations on hot tables.

Some delicious destinations for solo travelers on G. Garvin's list include Chinatown in San Francisco, Chelsea Market in New York City, Brazil for its small plates, and Peru for ceviche and carpaccio.

G. Garvin also suggests booking accommodations that include a kitchen for times when you don't feel like eating out on the road. And many hotels host social gatherings, which are great opportunites for meeting fellow travelers. For example, Staybridge Suites hosts The Social Tuesday through Thursday evenings, where guests can mingle while enjoying complimentary food and drinks.

When you do want to venture beyond the hotel for a bite to eat, G. Garvin has a few favorites. From the Ghetto Burger at Ann's Snack Shop in Atlanta to Italian fare at Dominick's in Hollywood, Calif., see G. Garvin's nine favorite restaurants around the world.
