Freemans Sporting Club Creates the Dewar's Scotch Whisky Travel Bag

New accessory helps keep scotch nearby

Freemans Sporting Club, the bastion of downtown NYC style for the rugged gentleman, has created a must-have accessory for the man who always wants his favorite Scotch on hand.
The limited edition Dewar’s Travel Bag by Freemans Sporting Club is a bespoke whisky tote modeled on a vintage utility bag used by Tommy Dewar, son of the brand’s founder John Dewar, to carry his father’s Scotch around the world. Freemans modern version is a stylish update and fitting tribute to the famed whisky brand, founded in 1846.
Freemans Sporting Club founder and designer Taavo Somer created the bag to hold a bottle of Dewar’s 18 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky and a custom made Dewar’s flask, but the bag unrolls to become a multifunctional carrying case that can also be used as a Dopp kit, a tool kit, or even a knife roll for the chef on the go. Hand crafted in New York City from water repellent 18 oz. waxed canvas and trimmed with straps hand-cut from English bridle leather from UK saddle maker J&E Sedgewick & Co., founded in 1900, it’s lined in Dewar's signature Highlander Tartan fabric. The straps can also be used to attach the case to your bike.
The bag is available starting this month online, as well as the FSC boutiques in NYC and San Francisco, and will retail for $150. Custom hand-sewn monogramming is also available for an additional $15.
