Foursquare Tips

  • Fried dough pizza.
  • The highlight is the Montanara. It's a giant flat zeppole, lightly flash-fried and covered with tomato sauce and mozzarella di bufala. Then it's finished briefly in the wood-burning oven.
  • Group of 4? Split the burrata appetizer, a half liter of wine, and 3 pizzas. Perfect amount of food.
  • You. That someone special. And a bottle of Gragnano DOC. Works 90% of the time.
  • Hands down the best pizza in NYC. Try the Montanara... You won't be disappointed.
  • Montanara is overrated. Go for the Fuorigrotta, great lemony, olive oily arugula and cheese on a delicious crust.
  • Pizza's delicious. Doughy crunchy crust.
  • This place is super underrated. The pizza is insanely good -- especially the pizza w/ the FRIED CRUST. Here's the plan: two pizzas, one fried, one regular.
  • Come with a friend, start off with the Arancini, followed by the Montanara and Porta Capuana pizzas. Leave happy.
  • If you don't get anything with Nutella for dessert, you're seriously missing out.
  • Bottomless drinks, weekend brunch. $25.
  • service is very slow
  • Nice folks and delicious pizza, particularly the fried dough. However, service was very slow and disorganized.
  • The pizza maker is a 4x world champ!
  • Great Napoleon pizza, sweet sauce, wood fired oven, fancy decor and a nice variety of wines to choose. Went here on Scott's pizza tour and it was awesome!
  • The chocolate dessert was my favorite
  • Just get pizza, skip the rest. Pizza is arguably best in NYC. Bit salty, tender and perfectly charred crust. A must is Porta Capuana with burrata, arugula, pecorino and prosciutto.
  • It's good, it's good... One of my number one in NYC
  • True to NYT review - out waiter was "male, handsome" and when attending to us it was like "the stars are shining just for" us. I could take or leave the pizza, but arancini balls are worth the trip.
