The Food Experiments Return To Brooklyn — Bust Out Your Curry!

On Sunday, Oct. 21, palms will be sweating and hands shaking as 25 local amateur chefs compete to see who can pull off the most inspirational curry dish.

The pressure is on at the Brooklyn Curry Experiment http://thefoodexperiments.com/tour/brooklyn/ as chef-testants try to impress a panel of celebrity judges, including Bon Appétit's Andrew Knowlton and The New York Times' Melissa Clark and Amanda Hesser. Andy Ricker, owner of Pok Pok Ny and Jehangir Mehta, chef/owner of Graffiti and Mehtaphor, will also be in attendance to turn up the heat. Attendees will also be able to judge the entries (read: taste the greatest curry experiments in the city). The winner will bask in culinary glory and lock in their spot for the national cook-off, where they will face off against winners from other cities.

Tickets are $15 each and include a free pint of Brooklyn Brewery beer. Half of the proceeds will go toward charities that promote sustainability and local culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens.

If this sounds like your idea of a good time, they're still accepting competitors for the event.
