Launched by Food Tank and the James Beard Foundation, the first annual Good Food Org Guide identifies and celebrates more than five hundred U.S.-based groups including five from Idaho who are cultivating a better food system.

Feed the Gap

Feed the Gap focuses on ending child hunger in Idaho. The group supports organizations already working against child hunger by providing financial resources to fill gaps in their budgets.

The Idaho Foodbank

The Idaho Foodbank is the largest hunger relief organization in the state and works with over 200 nonprofit partners that include food pantries, community kitchens, and shelters. Each year, the Foodbank distributes more than 10 million pounds of food and serves an estimated 100,000 people per month.

Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force

Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force aims to promote food security for all residents of Idaho by encouraging public and private sectors to collaboratively utilize their resources to combat hunger. The task force works in six policy and program areas that include examining hunger and its root causes, raising public awareness about hunger, supporting the development of anti-hunger programs and policies, promoting cross-program collaborations, and making the Idaho legislature aware of food security issues.

Rural Roots

Rural Roots is a nonprofit promoting a sustainable food system across Idaho and eastern Washington and Oregon. The organization brings together smallholder farmers and their allies within the food industry for advocacy and activist networking.

Six Rivers Market

Six Rivers Market is a cooperative supported by member producers and consumers to increase access to local, sustainably grown food from within 150 miles of Sandpoint, ID. Through Six Rivers, buyers can order food directly from northern Idaho producers, and the cooperative coordinates pickups everyWednesday at a central location.
