Foursquare Tips

  • Firecakes' donut ice cream sandwich is held together with chocolate espresso or vanilla bean gelato, and adorned with rich chocolate, caramel sauces, and cocoa nibs. Hell to the yes.
  • The doughnut ice cream sandwich at Firecakes is one of the 100 best things we ate this year.
  • Coconut is amazing. Be ware, it's a lot of coconut.
  • Donut ice-cream sandwich ; Special and different experience
  • Stop reading this and go get a donut. The Vanilla Iced was pure, simple perfection while the Butterscotch Praline was full of surprising flavor.
  • Bacon Pineapple donut FTW!!
  • The peach-flavored ice cream, ice cream donut sandwich. You'll hate yourself only until you take that first bite, I promise. Truly a YOLO experience.
  • Chocolate with espresso cream is SO good; they also serve donut ice cream sandwiches... Yum
  • The honey-glazed and old-fashioned are very popular - the Varlhona chocolate iced is the triple threat of the doughnut world (Eater)
  • On a date? Hanging out? Need some food before work? Fire cakes is perfect for any occasion. The bigger the donut the better right? If that's what you believe fire cakes is the place to go
  • At some point, someone thought "You know what this donut needs? Ice cream." And they were right.
  • Decent doughnut joint, but seems aimed towards tourists. Less authentic than some places in Chicagoland like Dat Donut, Kay's in Forest Park, Huck Finn, or Old Fashioned. This place is decent though.
  • The honey-glazed: classic, but possibly the best regular glazed donut I've ever had. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
  • The butterscotch praline & chocolate covered one w/ espresso cream were awesome. Haven't tried the ice cream donut yet since they're selling out by 1pm. Ice cream for breakfast?
  • Seriously delicious. The butterscotch praline was insane. Nice people too
  • No brainer: Get the ice cream donut sandwich. (still thinking about it)
  • Best donuts ever!
  • I loved the classic honey glazed donut. So tasty, the old fashioned on the other hand was way too sweet for my delicate European palette.
  • They can't cut doughnuts into pieces which is a bit of a bummer if sharing. But will give you a bunch of plastic knives to do it yourself.
  • It has a yummiest ice cream donut sandwich 'Glazed Donut, Vanilla ice cream, and Nutella Spread '
