Fazoli's Testing Wine, Beer at Kentucky Location
The Lexington, Kentucky-based company is introducing beer and wine (slowly)
Who wouldn't want a glass of wine with their Fazoli's calzone? The company is testing out a new beer and wine menu at the Lexington, Ky., location, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader.
If you so happen to be at the Fazoli's near the University of Kentucky (Fazoli's is based in Lexington), you can order a Budweiser, Bud Light, Peroni, or Kentucky Ale beer, or Copa di Vino pinot grigio and cabernet sauvignon wines. But don't expect your nearest Fazoli's to be stocking booze anytime soon; the CEO of the company, Carl Howard, said to the Lexington Herald-Leader that it's being cautious in testing them out. The reason? It's a family-oriented company, which doesn't want to alienate customers. But, because the college-friendly Fazoli's location has fewer families coming in, it makes the perfect testing location.
But that doesn't mean the restaurant chain won't be selling beer and wine ever; if all goes well, more college locations could soon be selling. "I need to make sure it's the right move for our brand," Howard said.
