President Obama To Appear On 'Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee' With Jerry Seinfeld

President Barack Obama will appear in an episode of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," the popular web series hosted by Jerry Seinfeld, whose guests have included Larry David, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tina Fey, and Stephen Colbert, to name a few.

As he nears the end of his presidency, Obama has opened up to a more pop culture-focused side of the media, shooting hoops for BuzzFeed and joining Bear Grylls on Running Wild — though the latter was filmed as part of the president's effort to bring more about a greater public awareness of climate change.

On "Comedians in Cars," Obama and Seinfeld drove a baby blue 1963 Corvette Sting Ray to the White House, where they had "a unique, candid conversation that focused largely on the lighter side of the presidency," the White House said in a statement.

Seinfeld, meanwhile, compared the meeting to space travel. "Growing up in the '60s my kid dream was always to be an astronaut — doing a comedy show with President Obama in and around the White House felt like going into space," Seinfeld said. "It was an unforgettable day."

The new season of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" premieres Wednesday, December 30.
