Make preparing for game day even easier thanks to these slow-cooker recipes

What do we love most about game day? The snacks, of course. Cheesy dips, Buffalo chicken, meaty sliders, and extravagant nachos are what make game day so special, whether we’re watching at home or are out tailgating. But we often find that making all these fabulous treats is more work than we had planned for: Hours in the kitchen to cook all our favorite snacks isn’t exactly how we envisioned spending our greedy weekend. However, this no longer has to be the case: Thankfully, we’ve found slow-cooker versions for all our favorite game-day snacks.

Cooking everything in your slow-cooker not only makes your job as host easier, but it also tends to lead to tastier snacks. Your dips will have richer flavors as they intermingle with each other for longer, and your meats will be tenderer, as the spices and sauces will have had plenty of time to cook together. And it doesn’t have to be just the savory snacks that are made in this time-saving kitchen tool: Chocolate and peanut butter fudge will be hugely popular with all your sweet-toothed guests, and, for once, it doesn’t require you to stand over the stove to cook it carefully for several hours.

From your favorite classic snacks, such as spinach and artichoke dip and juicy sliders, to a few twists on the standard dishes, such as cheeseburger pies and a caramelized French onion dip, your slow-cooker really can do it all. Just make sure you plan what you’re going to cook ahead of time: Your Crock-Pot may be magical, but it can’t make more than one snack at a time!

Read on to discover our 13 favorite slow-cooker game-day snacks.
