Foursquare Tips

  • Try the beer-braised tongue taco here, the brined pork tongue is cooked with bacon, chorizo, onions and a slug of Negra Modelo. It's one of NYC's 26 best tacos!
  • The sweetbread tacos are incredible, especially alongside an Espolon Reposado with Sangrita!
  • For a red wine, check out Chateau Maris' grenache. Languedoc's La Liviniere sub-appellation is home to the zone's best wines and 2008 was an exceptional vintage. Expect blackcurrant and violet notes.
  • ask for the two special salsas (one cashew--really!--and one spicy). don't miss the margaritas.
  • Air condition functions badly. As its packed far too much, waitresses bump into eating customers all the time.
  • support the independent restaurant owners of NYC! Food is fantastic and inventive!
  • Ripoff Alert: No free refills on coffee--not that they let you know until the check comes...
  • Brunch is amazing!
  • The cucumber margarita (name?) is definitely . Guacamole is really good, too.
  • Smoked Banana-Mezcal Margarita: the fruit is caramelized, pureed, the puree is smoked, and used as the base with Fidencio Clasico.
  • The guacamole is the best I've ever had
  • 'Por que no' is a must-drink. Goes particularly well with Lobster Tacos!
  • Milagro silver select barrel reserve.
  • Scallop Bacon Taco. Do it.
  • Tables by the windows are great for a group, summer squash salad & quest fundido w/ shishito peppers are amazing - margarita, lamb and fish tacos is we'e good...roosters claw (drink) is good but spicy
  • Man...the food is amazing! Queso fundido with green chorizo and tomato and corn salad are necessary. Sleeper item on the menu....chicken tacos! So simple but so good. Great date spot.
  • Try the rich beer-braised-tongue tacos. The soft, shredded meat is slow-cooked with Negra Modelo, bacon and chorizo. Its one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011.
  • Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, or any other day you wish to celebrate Mexican culture and cuisine. Iron Chef Alex Stupak is inspired by the seemingly endless combinations of flavors in Mexico.
  • Cool atmosphere, slowwwww service. Try the bacon queso fundido, short rib tamale, and crispy fish tacos.
  • One word: bland!
