Created by David Nepove, national president of the U.S. Bartender’s Guild, the EFFEN Vodka Spiced Pumpkin Cocktail is a great fall cocktail that will add some spice to your Halloween party.

Ingredients

For the Pumpkin Mix

  • 8 Ounces canned pumpkin
  • 8 Ounces freshly pressed apple juice
  • 4 Tablespoons pumpkin spice
  • 4 Tablespoons spiced syrup

For the spiced syrup

  • 8 Ounces water
  • 8 Ounces white sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1/8 Teaspoon ground allspice or 5 whole allspice pods

For the cocktail

  • 1 1/2 Ounce EFFEN Vodka
  • 2 Ounces pumpkin mix
  • 3/4 Ounces pasteurized egg white

Directions

For the Pumpkin Mix

Combine all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together well.

For the spiced syrup

Combine all the ingredients, except the sugar, in a stovetop pan and bring to a boil.Turn off heat, then add the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Let the mixture cool. Strain all the particles and refrigerate the liquid.  This spiced syrup will last up to 2 weeks.

For the cocktail

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker over ice and shake thoroughly. Strain the cocktail and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish your drink with floating cream and grated vanilla and nutmeg.
