Eerie Halloween Photos That Are Sure to Keep You Awake at Night

Halloween is on the perfect day this year (TGIF!), meaning that you can celebrate with parties, costumes, and candy all weekend long. In the days leading up to All Hallows' Eve, in between pumpkin carving nights and spooky movie marathons, we've been compiling some pretty great photos that encapsulate everything we love about this holiday, from eerie clowns to spooky witches. But some of these photos are creepy in less obvious ways, like a figure laying face down in shallow water, and some of them are just downright cool.

Mark Jenkins' work is a little different than the others on this list and that's because his are more of a street art style and aren't necessarily meant to be frightening. But, with figures positioned in creepy ways, like face down in water, we think his work qualifies.

Austrian-based artist Krist Mort has taught herself photography through a lot of trial and error. She prefers to focus on the darker aspects of life, and often showcases the fragility of nature. Of course, death is a huge factor and the fear of it seems to haunt much of her work.
