Sandwich Of The Week: Dig Inn's Thanksgiving Sandwich

New York City mini-chain, Dig Inn, is dedicated to making good-tasting food made from local and sustainable ingredients in an effort to help those that wish to change the way the way they eat. Though the menus vary slightly depending on location, each offers an impressive selection of vegetarian- and vegan-friendly options, though they certainly know how to treat beef and poultry.

A perfect example is its new Thanksgiving sandwich, which comprises braised, naturally raised sliced turkey, vegetable gravy, sage stuffing, and cranberry sauce served in a griddled sourdough bun. The sandwich also includes Dig Inn's famous Brussels sprouts, which are locally-sourced and prepared with a no-waste orange peel confit. Since it's an homage to Turkey Day, it's only available through Wednesday, November 25.

When asked about healthy eating around the holidays, Dig Inn's culinary director Matt Weingarten told us that, "When it comes to holiday indulgence, it's more important than ever to appreciate where our food comes from. In the true spirit of the season, support your local food system and community." We couldn't agree more with that sentiment, which is why the Thanksgiving sandwich from Dig Inn is Sandwich of the Week.
