Los Angeles' Patina Restaurant Offers Special 3-Course Menu For 1 Week Only

From Tuesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 22, guests of Patina in Downtown Los Angeles will be able to sample a new exclusive three-course menu by executive chef Paul Lee for just $50 per person.

The "Patina Week" menu includes an appetizer choice of compressed melon mozaic with cured duck, arugula, and frozen buttermilk or the snail porridge with sushi rice, fennel, and chlorophyll; a main course of either scallop with corn, tapioca, squid ink, and lemongrass or Jidori chicken with polenta, spinach, kataifi, and black olives; and a dessert of either summer pavlova with seasonal fruit and raspberry ice cream or a chocolate tart with black sesame and orange blossom.

Drawing upon his Taiwanese roots and marrying his finesse for classic French technique with his penchant for bold, global flavors, some of chef Lee's signature dishes include a 63°C duck egg with tea smoked duck breast, potato pureé, celtuce, cipollini onion, and an Earl Grey-onion broth; rabbit dégustation with bacon wrapped loin, rack, shoulder cannelloni, fava beans, morels, spring garlic, and a Riesling sauce; and S.R.F. pork belly with charred octopus, black pudding, burnt garlic purée, chanterelle mushrooms, and a Madeira jus.

Patina will be closed for their summer vacation from August 23 through September 11.  Reservations for this special menu are highly recommended.
