Firefly Debuts Seasonally-Inspired Sunday Brunch In Studio City

Studio City's Firefly has opened its patio to weekend brunch goers. Chef Paul Shoemaker has created a seasonally-inspired selection of dishes ranging from savory to sweet. The restaurant's large al fresco patio houses a big wood burning fireplace, private side booths, and a back bar area.  Diners can enjoy a variety of dishes including shrimp and creamy polenta with poached farm-fresh egg, applewood smoked bacon, and jerk sauce; scrambled eggs with Burgundy truffles and Parmesan-Reggiano cheese; Maine lobster Benedict served on ciabatta with poached egg, American caviar, and béarnaise; Honey Boo Boo breakfast burger with sunny side egg, bacon, cheddar, whipped honey butter, and hand-cut Kennebec fries; and a Texas-style brioche French toast with banana bourbon caramel and whipped cream.

To supplement the fresh, market concentration of the food, the Ventura Boulevard eatery also offers made-to-order pressed juices from the Fast Eddie (a mix of fennel, Meyer lemon, celery, green apple, and cayenne pepper) to the Green Juice (infused kale, honeydew, watercress, celery, parsley, and river salt). Additionally, imbibers are welcomed to pair fresh grapefruit, orange, and other juices with champagne or a favorite spirit, or indulge in a customizable Bloody Mary from the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Garnishes vary from kosher pickle spheres, blue cheese stuffed green olives, pickled jalapenos, shrimp, and spices including tabasco, sriracha, and Worcestershire.  Brunch is served Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and reservations can be made by calling (818) 762-1833.
