Makers with Rodenbach Brewery, known for its sour beers in the traditional Flanders red style, plans to bring back its “legendary” Alexander Beer. Rodenbach Alexander was last brewed in 1999 and last released in 2000. The beer will be available only in the U.S. beginning in April. It is the first limited edition brew of the Rodenbach Limited Edition Sour Series for 2016. The makers plan to release the beer in draught one-way kegsand 750-milliliter bottles, which are adorned with the image of Alexander Rodenbach, a founding brother of Rodenbach Brewery.
In a new poll by Ranker, more than 10,000 Americans voted on the best sandwich chain in America. They know what they like between their bread, and it’s not Subway or even Panera. Jersey Mike’s was far and away the favorite in the poll, especially among Northeast voters, with Firehouse Subs coming in second. Jersey Mike’s is a sandwich shop based in New Jersey that’s been around since 1956. In The Daily Meal’s list of the Best Chain Sandwich Shops in America in 2014, Jersey Mike’s came in at No. 6, whereas our number one sandwich chain was Panera. The Cheesecake Factory, land of the voluminous chopped salad and over-the-top desserts, commonly found inside suburban malls, is finally coming to New York City. The Queens Courier reports the big cheesecake comes to The Big Apple later this year, and will open inside the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst. When built, it’s estimated that the restaurant will have seats for 180 patrons inside and an additional 48 seats outside. Leaders with the Cheesecake Factory say they anticipate a winter opening, however no further information was given.
