Today's first course?

On Monday afternoon, an 86-year-old woman withdrew a large sum of money from an ATM before going into a supermarket in Altrincham, England. She was confronted by another woman who allegedly demanded the money from her and grabbed her trolley. CCTV footage of the incident was later released and shows that the police's description of the incident was a bit overdramatic. There is a clear confrontation between the two in the form of words being exchanged, but the "attacker" simply grabs the woman's trolley for a brief moment before letting go and being swatted away with the packet of bacon.

Behind the scenes, Yelp is improving its restaurant listings using your food pictures. With a little bit of help from artificial intelligence, your photos posted on social media and on the Yelp website are analyzed to improve restaurant listings and recommendations. That photo you took of you eating soft serve at your local ice cream shop? From that photo alone, the AI can determine whether the ice cream shop has outdoor seating, the ambience, and whether it's for couples of families. The result is photos and restaurant profiles that will be auto-captioned with phrases like, "good for kids, casual and loud atmosphere," with a percentile accuracy rating.

Atlanta-based rapper 2 Chainz, known for the two heavy metal chains he wears around his neck and unique music videos, is getting into the restaurant business. The music artist announced on Instagram that he's opening a restaurant that will double as a club called Escobar Restaurant. The project is in collaboration with the nearby Hookah Hideaway, so presumably the flavored tobacco will be involved somehow in the restaurant. He's hoping to create "one of the top spots for the upscale and celebrity crowd in the city."

That's today's Daily Dish, thanks for watching. Stop by tomorrow for another helping.
