Easy Homemade Cheesecake Toppings

Cheesecake is arguably one of America's favorite desserts and it seems like everyone has a different idea about what the perfect cheesecake should taste like. Some like a drier New York-style cheesecake drizzled with chocolate sauce, others a creamier cake topped with fresh berries. Regardless of how you like your cheesecake, we've got three easy DIY toppings that we think you'll love.

Chocolate Ganache
This easy-to-make chocolate sauce can be made with just two ingredients: heavy cream and chocolate chips. Just heat the cream to boiling, pour it over the chocolate chips, then (after letting it sit for 2 minutes) whisk until a smooth creamy chocolate sauce forms.

Berry Sauce
If you like berries on cheesecake, try sprinkling sugar over the fruit and allowing it to sit for a few minutes. When a sauce starts to form, use a fork to mash the fruit into a chunky sauce or blend it in a food processor for a smooth purée.

Peanut Butter Sauce
Peanut butter is great on cheesecake. Make a sauce by putting creamy peanut butter into a microwave-safe bowl with some honey or corn syrup. Heat the peanut butter for 30 seconds then stir to combine.
