Easy Entertaining: Passion Fruit Iced Tea

It’s mid-May, but here in South Florida the humidity has it feeling like mid August. We are in for a sweltering summer! If you happen to reside someplace where it’s in the mid 60’s and 70’s the word jealous doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel.

On a spring or hot summer day there is nothing quite like some sweet iced tea. I made this Passion Fruit Iced Tea for a tea party I hosted a few weeks back.  It’s bright and refreshing and oh so easy to make!

Since I use Passion Fruit Juice there is no need to add any other sweetener, the addition of fresh berries adds natural sweetness as well!

You can easily make this a cocktail by adding some sparkling wine like a Prosecco {my favorite for the summertime months!}.

  2. a carton of passion fruit juice {I used Welchs Passion Fruit Juice}
  3. 1/2 cup of fresh raspberries
  4. 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries
  5. 1 large orange {zest the orange + cut thick slices}

Instructions

  1. Put tea bags in a heat-proof pitcher.
  2. In a saucepan bring water just to a boil and pour over tea bags. Steep tea, covered, 3 minutes and remove the tea bags.
  3. Chill tea, covered, until cold.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients, stirring until combined well.
  5. Serve over ice and make sure you scoop out some of the fresh fruit.
