The New Starbucks Holiday Latte Is Here: It's Christmas-Y And Not Overly Sweet

It simply isn't the holiday season without Starbucks stirring us into a caffeinated, Christmas frenzy with new limited-edition holiday drinks. Starting today, the new holiday latte concoction from America's largest coffee chain will appear on Starbucks menus across the country: the holiday spice flat white. The holiday spice flat white is a cinnamon and nutmeg-infused offshoot of the Australian version of a latte that premiered in January this year at Starbucks.

The holiday flat white is made with ristretto shots of espresso; a spice mix of ground sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and tangerine sugar; and is topped off with steamed milk finished with the latte art "dot" that distinguish flat whites from other lattes.

The drink was inspired by mulled cider, and according to first tasters, is less saccharine than the coffee chain's other limited edition holiday drinks, like the gingerbread or pumpkin spice lattes. It's perfect for coffee fans who want to get into the Starbucks spirit without going overboard on the sugar.
