Denver's First Beer And Bacon Festival

Eat Boston, Forkly, and Denver Off the Wagon have joined forces to bring Denver its first Bacon & Beer Festival on Dec. 9. The Denver event stems from Boston's annual Bacon & Beer Festival, which has raised more than $65,000 for hunger relief to date. "As Forkly's user-base both celebrates food and cherishes it, it seemed fitting that our first major event is to raise funds for those without food," said Forkly representative Jossie Auerbach.

Twenty-five local restaurants, including Colt & Gray, The Kitchen Denver, and Euclid Hall, will cook up plates of porcine profundity, utilizing cured pork belly in ways most other chefs wouldn't dare. To wit: chef Matt Selby, formerly of Steuben's, will cook up a bacon, chanterelle and Robiola tartlet with dried fig-lambic jam. Among the famous faces, guests can expect to see Top Chef season five winner Hosea Rosenberg, Top Chef Seattle contestant Jorel Pierce, and Jenna Johansen, a contestant on Around the World in 80 Plates. Colorado breweries like Great Divide Brewing Company, Avery Brewing Company, and Crooked Stave will also be lending their expertise, highlighting a selection of their craft beers available in The Mile High City.

Do Coloradans like their bacon and beer as much as Bostonites? This year's Beantown event sold out in five minutes flat. Beat that, Denver pork lovers. Tickets go on sale this week and can be purchased through Eat Boston.
