Delano Marrakech Set To Open

The Delano Marrakech, the second international outpost of the Delano brand, is set to open in September in Marrakech.

Designed by Jacques Garcia, the 71-room hotel will feature four restaurants, a nightclub, a shopping arcade, and a 20,000-square-foot spa with subterranean mosaic pool, beauty salon, and fitness center. The hotel's interior, constructed of marble and wood, boasts a lobby ceiling of hand-carved wood and a rotunda with a Moroccan motif.

The property's four restaurants include a French restaurant, Bon R, headed by Michelin-starred Parisian chef Michel Rostang, and a Mediterranean-Italian restaurant by Giancarlo Morelli of Pomiroeu in Seregno, near Milan, also a Michelin honoree.

A yet-to-be-named sushi and sake restaurant and Galerie, a casual café with a bar , round out the offerings.

When Delano Marrakech opens in September, nightlife will be provided at Sky Lounge, a rooftop space that offers panoramic views of the the Medina, the Agdai Gardens, the Imperial ramparts, and the Atlas Mountains. A nightclub located beneath the lobby will open in 2013.

Delano Marrakech is the first of two Morgans Hotel Group properties to open in Morocco; a Mondrian hotel is scheduled to open in 2013. Morgans Hotels Group has hotels in Boston, London, Los Angeles. Miami, New York, and San Francisco. The Delano brand continues to expand with the Delano Las Vegas set to open in 2013.

Room rates for the Delano Marrakech start at $315 per night.
