Deal Of The Week: Flights To Los Angeles On The Cheap

Spring is a good time to be in California for many reasons, not the least of which are Coachella, sunny warm weather, the California Artisan Cheese Festival, the LA Sake Festival, the Sonoma in LA event, and, further afield, the Paso Robles Wine Festival. But traveling to and from those fabulous events can mean sky-high airfares; landing at LAX can cost upward of $300 from plenty of destinations.

But Fly.com is hosting a sale specifically dedicated to round-trip airfares in and out of Los Angeles, with rates as low as $88! We won't pull the wool over your eyes, though. The $88 flight is from Las Vegas, but flights from Seattle are just $160, from San Francisco it's just $138, from Miami it'll cost you $260, Denver starts at $165, and flights from Austin are $220. The average savings is up to $150 and travel is valid through June.

The California Artisan Cheese Festival takes place at the end of March (23-25) and features farm tours, lessons in cheesemaking, tastings, farm dinners (like the "From Dirt to Dinner with Cindy

On March 26, Drink.Eat.Play will host the annual LA Sake Festival at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. They'll be featuring more than 100 brands of sake with classes, tastings, seminars, and plenty of cocktails, as well as a smattering of desserts.

Then, there's Coachella, which spans two weekends — April 13 to 15, and April 20 to 22. Of course, the foodstuffs don't stop just because of a little live music — Palm Desert has some fantastic eats to indulge in, too.

Back in the City of Angels, the Sonoma in the City of Los Angeles event will take place April 24. It will highlight not only the spectacular wines of Sonoma, Calif., but also the region's incredible bounty of beautiful landscapes and fresh foods.

Finally, if you feel like taking advantage of Travelzoo's car rental deals (they're listing $10-and-up rentals for March, for example), hop in the car and head north for the 30th Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival, from May 18 to 20.
