Daniel Humm Drops By Jimmy Fallon, Makes Egg Creams And Schnitzel

You know it's a good time on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon if The Roots plays "schnitzel music" for a segment.

Chef Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park made an appearance on Fallon Thursday night to promote his second cookbook collaboration with Will Guidara, called I Love New York: Ingredients and Recipes.

Humm began by preparing an egg cream using chocolate syrup courtesy of Mast Brothers in Brooklyn, and Fallon had an incident with seltzer water (he missed the cup, getting it everywhere). The two then took a shot of whiskey (which prompted a moment of bromance) and made a chicken schnitzel.

Fallon is no stranger to Eleven Madison Park and even recalls having a gin sorbet a la Humm.

Although we never actually see them try the finished schnitzel sandwich, we can't help but remember this sandwich being sold three years ago at Sandwiched, a temporary pop-up café at the Whitney Museum of American Art. The sandwich was made with a black truffle-celery slaw and gruyère on toasted brioche. We almost wish that it didn't have to close.
