For just $55 a person, you will enjoy a three-course meal crafted by Empellón Cocina's acclaimed chef Alex Stupak and get a chance to dine with Bovino, who has an impressive repertoire of work at The Daily Meal, and previously at The New York Times, Rough Guides, and Always Hungry New York.

Empellón Cocina serves up elaborate dishes inspired by authentic Mexican cooking techniques and flavor combinations. On the night of July 30, the chef will select a special menu for guests that will highlight many of Empellón's signature dishes. The meal will begin with masa crisps and guacamole and masa cups filled with refried beans, homemade salsa, topped with tender pork tongue. Guests will then get to taste Empellón's roasted carrots with mole poblano, yogurt, and watercress and a salad tossed with mezcal cured ocean trout. At the height of the meal, diners can indulge in their choice of Manila clams, squid, or sweetbreads, all cooked to authentic Mexican perfection.

Bovino notes, "I'm excited to be hosting this dinner at Alex Stupak's popular East Village outpost of Empellón Cocina. I'm particuarly keen to meet up with The Daily Meal's readers, contributors, and members of its Culinary Content Network to get some of their ideas about what's going down on the New York restaurant scene, and to catch up with my friend and frequent Daily Meal contributor GutterGourmet who has already signed up!"
