The Daily Byte: The Scoop On Airport Dining

There's nothing more frustrating than getting delayed at the airport. Whether you're trying to get home after a lovely break, or making your way to a vacation destination, getting stuck in a terminal is stressful, especially when it comes to finding a good meal. USA Today reported this morning that almost 7,000 flights have been cancelled because of the blizzard that just hit the Northeast. During this already chaotic holiday week, travelers are certainly deserving of a delicious meal while they wait.

With airlines cutting back on in-flight dining options, big name chefs have stepped in to feed hungry travelers. Earlier this month, famed meat purveyor, Pat La Frieda, debuted its first airport eatery, Custom Burgers by Pat La Frieda. Rap star and mogul, Jay-Z announced on November 30th that he would be bringing outposts of his 40/40 Club to select airports across the country. Additionally, Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport is currently under construction with plans to host a Cat Cora Cocktail Lounge, and Napa Farms & Vino and Volo, which includes food by Tyler Florence.

The improvement of airport dining has become so popular, and the available restaurant options have expanded so much that it can be overwhelming for travelers to navigate. Many publications, including The Daily Meal, have started doing round-ups of the best spots to eat at in and around the country's major airports. So, if you're one of the many people biding time in the airport this week, take comfort in knowing that chances are you may be surrounded by delicious dining options.
