Blogger Spotlight: Simi's Turmeric N Spice

This week, we're proud to feature Simi Jois of Turmeric N Spice in the Blogger Spotlight. For those new to the column, every Friday, we highlight a member of The Daily Meal's Culinary Content Network, a select group of bloggers who write about food and drink.

We look to these talented food writers for inspiration and participation in The Daily Meal, whether for restaurant recommendations or new recipes to try out for dinner. Our editorial team covers All Things Food and Drink, and we tap the CCN to keep up to speed on what is happening around the country and the world — from fine dining to home cooking.

In addition to blogging and creating at Turmeric N Spice, Simi Jois loves photography. When she first started her blog, taking food photos was like learning a new language, but she got the hang of it. She now calls her artwork "Culinary Optics" which is her mutual love affair of food and photography.

The Daily Meal: What is the mission of your blog?

Simi Jois: Cooking is not rocket science. My mission is to showcase simple easy recipes that can be put together in no time. Food is not just a meal. It brings family and friends together — nothing connects us like food does. As I look back, my fondest memories, have been around people and food (thanks to my mother, who is an amazing cook).
