At what is widely considered one of the finest restaurants in Austin, Congress executive chef David Bull — who made his mark at the city's Driskill Hotel — together with chef de cuisine Rebecca Meeker, creates a fresh three-course and seven-course menu every night of what can broadly be considered new American cuisine, but which also draws upon Japanese and Korean influences to highlight the quality of the ingredients. Diners are treated to a modern, airy space that doesn’t feel overly trendy, great cocktails, and a menu that, while constantly changing, can be relied upon to include some deeply comforting items like prime rib-eye cap with smoked beef fat potatoes, white Cheddar, pale ale, and mustard greens.-- Will Budiaman

  • Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. If you're lucky enough to have one of the 22 seats in the bar, you're lucky enough to order the Montegomaticas.
  • It occupies the ground floor of a luxe new condo building--not my preferred restaurant location, but I'll go anywhere for executive chef David Bull's distinctly American comfort food.
  • Perfect service and very well executed meal. Pricey for Austin, but one of a kind.
  • Hands-down one of the best in Austin. Chef David Bulls over-the-top, no-holds-barred creations served in "prix fixe" feasts are perfect for foodies! Go for the full-monty chefs tasting menu!

  • Chef David Bull didn't bring foie gras to Austin but he surely helped evangelize it. Few other chefs use such precious ingredients so confidently. The cool kids always make it seem effortless.

  • Adam (bar manger) is, in fact, awesome. I like to seek out obscure liquor and the sheer quantity of obscure liquors they have is amazing.
