City Harvest To Host Summer In The City Restaurant Tasting And Cocktail Party June 19

City Harvest, the 30-year-old organization that rescues millions of pounds of unused food annually and uses it to feed millions of New York's hungry, will be hosting its 12th annual Summer in the City restaurant tasting and cocktail party on June 19 at Chelsea's Metropolitan Pavilion.

The blowout event raises funds for the organization's young professionals group, Generation Harvest, and provides guests with the opportunity to sample bites from some of the city's top restaurants. This year's participating restaurants include Ardesia Wine Bar, The Beagle, Benchmark Restaurant, Bis CO. Latte, BLT Fish Shack, Booker and Dax, Butcher Bar, Corsino Cantina, Delaney Barbecue, Delicatessen, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Ditch Plains, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Ed's Lobster Bar, Extra Virgin Restaurant, Feast, French Roast Downtown, Genting Palace,  Hecho en Dumbo,  Melt Bakery, Momofuko Ssam Bar, New York Cake Pops, Oceana, Pig & Khao, Rhong Tiam, Silver Lining, The Smith, The Stanton Social, SUSHISAMBA, Tom Cat Bakery, The Treats Truck Stop, Valrhona Chocolate, Victor's Café, Yerba Buena Perry, and Zengo. 

Ticket prices range from $150 to $250. The VIP hour will begin at 6:30 p.m., and general admission starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information about attending, email lwillis@cityharvest.org or visit their website.

Last year's event attracted more than 600 guests, and raised more than $230,000 to support the organization. The nonprofit relies on contributions in order to keep running, so events like these are vital to the operation.
