Chef Sam Hazen To Helm Kitchen At Park Hyatt New York

Chef Sam Hazen, formerly of the now-shuttered Vertias, a New American restaurant in Flatiron, is leading the culinary program at the Park Hyatt New York.

Hazen will oversee the hotel's unnamed American restaurant on the third floor as well as the bar. Hazen will also be in charge of the hotel's entire food and beverage offerings, from in-room minibars to the show kitchen reserved for events and meetings.

The restaurant is designed by international design firm Yabu Pushelberg.

The Park Hyatt New York is scheduled to open in Summer 2014 at the base of One57, a 90-story mixed use building in New York across from Carnegie Hall.

Designed by Christian de Portzamparc, the flagship Park Hyatt will have 210 guest rooms including 92 suites, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, which overlook Central Park and the New York skyline. The pet friendly hotel will feature yet-to-be-revealed Carnegie Hall-related features, a 25th-floor spa, indoor swimming pool, steam room, and hot tub encased in a three-story aerie, and a fitness center.
