Cameron Mitchell's Ocean Prime Opens In Philadelphia

Ocean Prime started as a humble "club" in Columbus, Ohio, and quickly made a name for itself by offering high quality steak and seafood dishes, a constant flow of expertly paired wine, and the kind of intimate, personalized service that can only be captured with the phrase "supper club."

Nine locations later, people still want to be in the club. The popular "modern American supper club" from renowned restaurateur Cameron Mitchell is still rooted in prime ingredients and hospitality, and now Philadelphia looks to be the lucky city for the tenth Ocean Prime outpost.

The Center City location is scheduled to open in spring 2013, and will be the chain's first foray into Pennsylvania. It's a thriving neighborhood for new businesses, and Mitchell is hoping that Philadelphians will be receptive to Ocean Prime's high-quality seafood, steak, cocktails, and wine. The "made-from-scratch" menu will feature the fine ingredients and pure, regional flavors we've come to expect from the chain, along with expertly chosen wines and handmade creative cocktails like the "Berries and Bubbles," below.

Though it's sprawling, the space is designed to make guests feel like they're at an intimate supper club. 260 guests can fit in the 8,000-square-foot space, which will have three private dining rooms, a 1,800-square-foot mezzanine, and a sophisticated cocktail lounge.

There's no end in sight for the Ocean Prime empire; a Houston location is in the works for 2014.
