Boozy Cupcakes 101

As we approach the most family-centric holidays of the year, the main question on many people's minds is... How can we add more booze to the festivities?

Fear not! The owners of Prohibition Bakery, Leslie Feinberg and Brooke Siem, have advice on how to combine alcohol with your baked goods. In the video above we learn how to drink and bake.

Feinberg says the starting point should always be a willingness to go bold while still having a plan. "I think the first thing is to be creative about it," she says. "You don't need to pour a bunch of tequila into a bunch of lime juice and you've got a margarita cupcake. You have to really think about it and come up with the best way for it to come together perfectly."

Balance and proportions are key when tackling boozy frosting. Siem says an easy way to get started is by using 1 pound of sugar, 1/2 cup of whatever fat you're using, and 1/4 cup of your "liquid."
