Used prominently in Indian cooking, sweets and drinks, like Masala Chai; the strong spice cardamom can also be found in Finnish bread and mixed with coffee in the Middle East. Here, cardamom imparts a rich, almost citrusy flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 ounce buffalo trace bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce blackberry puree
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • dash of aromatic bitters
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • dash of sparkling wine
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients except the sparkling wine over ice and shake. Pour into a glass over fresh ice and top with sparkling wine.
