Take the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade: This cocktail features Buffalo Trace Bourbon, fresh-pressed lemon, blackberry and…cardamom. Used prominently in Indian cooking, sweets and drinks, like Masala Chai; the strong spice cardamom can also be found in Finnish bread and mixed with coffee in the Middle East. Here, cardamom imparts a rich, almost citrusy flavor.
- 1 1/2 ounces Buffalo Trace Bourbon
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce blackberry puree
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- Dash of aromatic bitters
- 1 cardamom pod
- Dash of sparkling wine
Mix all ingredients except the sparkling wine over ice and shake. Pour into a glass over fresh ice and top with sparkling wine.
