The Best Way To Save A Few Pennies A Year And Be Unpleasant Doing The Work
Okay, times are rough all over and a penny saved is a penny gained. But some so-called cash saving tips is not worth the minimal savings they may offer up. Here are some cheap suggestions for the penny-foolish.
Sleeping in the airport
It is one way to save cash while on vacation, but how can you actually enjoy the online websites whenever you are bleary-eyed and your back hurts from attempting to sleep balled-up in uncomfortable chairs? You may also stay home.
Finding what you need in a dumpster
I am not willing to eat out of garbage cans like some people recommend on their blogs and books. The movement is ridiculous because many people will not find anything good when they dumpster diving. The people who do find good stuff know exactly where to try to find it because they find specific dumpsters.
Not worth single-ply
There is likely no savings when using single-ply rather than two-ply toilet tissue because you have to use twice as much to be able to keep your hands clean. Comic site Cracked explained that $10 a year could be saved through it, but that is totally not worth every penny. I would rather just get my comfortable toilet paper than try to save.
Fewer washes not saving much
You may end up fired if you wear the same outfit two or three days in a row without doing the laundry. As much as people would like you to think you might save money on water, electricity and detergent, you really cannot afford to lose your job.
Re-using plastic bags
You can save a ton of money by just making a lunch at home each day and taking it to work with you, but cleaning and reusing plastic sandwich bags is not worth it. It does not cost a whole lot to get sandwich bags, and you also might end up sick if there are germs.
Stealing at restaurants
We've all seen the same dour-looking woman in fast food restaurants, stashing napkins and packets of ketchup and mustard into her purse so that she never has to purchase those staples again. I do not know how she gets around, but I swear I've seen the same lady everywhere I've ever lived or grabbed a fast bite on the road. She is a thief and she is raising the cost of your lunch. It's darn sure those restaurants are not going to eat the losses. They are going to pass them on to the hungry.
