Southern Fried Chicken Recipe

If you love Southern food, then you know that Southern fried chicken is one of the best fried chicken recipes. Even without a buttermilk marinade, Southern fried chicken is tender and juicy. The chicken is dipped into an egg wash and then into seasoned flour before it's fried in hot oil. The skin gets crisp and golden without drying out the chicken inside. Some Southern fried chicken recipes also advise you to brine the chicken (soak it in a salt solution) overnight to further enhance its juiciness.

This particular fried chicken recipe calls for hot pepper sauce; it's added to the egg wash to give this Southern recipe an extra punch of flavor. If you're worried about the heat, you could add water to the egg instead and then bread your Southern fried chicken.  Either way, we're betting this will be some of the best fried chicken you've ever eaten.
