The Best Salsas To Try At HEB

This is Texas. And if there's one thing Texans love, it's salsa...on everything! So, naturally, there are several variations on the typical tomato-based salsa. The best thing about this? You can find most of them at your local grocery store. Being adventurous never tasted so good.

Native Texan Restaurant Style

Made with all-natural ingredients, this salsa is truly a bite of freshness. Abounding with tomatoes, onion and garlic with a slight kick of spiciness, this is one of the best choices when looking for salsa. It goes great with breakfast tacos and even better when mixed into some guacamole. My all-time fave? Enjoying it the old fashioned way with some tortilla chips.

Arriba! Roasted Green Salsa

This is probably one of the chunkiest salsas I have eaten and it is packed with a number of flavors that leave you satisfied after every bite. I enjoy the green salsa versus the red simply because there's still some smokiness to the flavor, but not too much. It's a more refreshing version of a roasted salsa and goes great with chips as well as dressing tacos.

That Green Sauce

If you like spicy then this HEB brand salsa will do the trick. Creamy with a bright lime color, this sauce works well as a dip and also as an addition to a recipe: mix it in some scrambled eggs, a salad, or even make a sour cream dip with it. The spiciness is just enough without being overwhelming and the taste compliments a number of foods.

La Costeña Ranchera Salsa

Rich, chunky and savory are three words that will likely come to mind when enjoying your scoop of La Costeña. Its smoky flavor makes it well-suited to be eaten alone with chips, or added to eggs or fajita meat. I've tried all three ways and have not been disappointed. Along with its rich flavor, this salsa is fairly spicy so it's best to not overdo it.

Go and spice up your next meal!
